Joel Tennison is the General Manager of Hitters SportsPlex and founder of Hitters Tennis Club located in Middleton, Wisconsin. Joel has been a leader in tennis instruction and club management for over 20 years as an Elite USPTA professional. He started his career at the Crystal Lake Racket Club in Crystal Lake, Illinois where he worked for 13 years as Junior Development Director and Head Professional at the prestigious 15 court facility. His playing credentials include a South Carolina High School state title, Division I scholarship at WIU with #1 Singles All-Conference honors, and winner of the $10,000 USPTA National Indoor Men's 35's Tournament.
Joel, his wife Maureen, and their two sons moved to Verona, Wisconsin in 2005 to be closer to family and begin a new start in tennis in the Madison area. After teaching at several area tennis clubs Joel focused his attention on creating a world class indoor tennis facility in the Madison area. With the help of Hitters SportsPlex ownership, Joel was able to see his goal become reality as the brand new eight court indoor facility was established in 2011. Hitters Tennis Club soon became a huge success with over 500 new tennis members helping create one of the strongest programs in the Midwest. Hitters Tennis Club was recently recognized as the "2015 Wisconsin Member Organization of the Year" by the Wisconsin Tennis Association. |
