Joel Tennison is the General Manager of Hitters SportsPlex. He arrives with a tennis teaching resume that spans two decades. A former South Carolina high school State Champion, Joel also compiled an impressive tennis career at Division I Western Illinois University, where he played #1 Singles and #1 Doubles while earning All-Conference honors in 1991 and 1992. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Club Management, Joel became the Head Tennis Professional at The Crystal Lake Racket Club in Illinois.

There he created one of the largest and most comprehensive tennis programs in the Midwest. His accomplishments include coaching one of the strongest junior programs in the state; boasting multiple sectional and nationally ranked players.

Most recently, Joel was the Director of Tennis at The Nakoma Golf Club and Professional at John Powless Tennis Center in Madison, WI. Recent accomplishments include coordinating and coaching multiple USTA teams including a 2008 USTA 4.0 Midwest Championship Team and a 2010 18U Junior Midwest Championship Team. Joel has also been the Director of Madison's All-City Junior Tennis Tournament and the founder of the Mad-Town Classic City Championships.
